The Kjell Borneland Academy was established in March 2007 with a vision to provide education to the poor and deprived children of Jaigaon and Bhutan and the name "Kjell Borneland Academy" was kept in memory of the good works done by a wonderful person Mr. Kjell Borneland from Sweden. It was through the thoughtful ideas of Mr Sherab Lama and Mr. Mahesh Moktan, who had been in close contact with Mr. Kjell Borneland assisting his charitable works during his visits in India and Nepal. Mr. Borneland has been constantly keeping in touch with the school with regards to development of the school and providing sponsorship assistance to the deprived children. Recently, Mr. Lennart Strandberg and Mrs. Birthe Strandberg from Sweden visited the school family and have been very supportive to our endeavors. They even have discussed with many charitable organisations in Sweden like New HOPE and Rotary Organisation for support and assistance. We all hope for best things to happen for our school and children in the near future.
